If you’re like me and most Americans, you spend the better part of your day in a seated position whether it be at school or in my case at work. Besides the most obvious effects like those extra pounds that you’ve gained seemingly out of no where, there’s also many hidden dangers. Sitting all day is so dangerous to your health that researchers have coined sitting as the new tobacco. Whenever there’s an opportunity to stand or go for a walk I take advantage, but there’s many a day when my entire schedule consists of going to meeting to meeting and before I know it the work day is over and I’ve been in a seated position for at least 7 hours. And unfortunately, an hour workout post-work or school isn’t enough to undo the harm that’s been caused by all that sitting.
