Hello all! It's been an incredibly long time since I've blogged and boy have I missed it.
My personal life has been soaring to new heights and unfortunately, my blog was sacrificed in the process. Due to my incredibly hectic new schedule, I find that making videos is a bit easier for me as I can film them in my studio any time of the day. I'm starting a new segment on my channel, entitled Ashley's Closet. During this segment I'll take one piece of clothing from my closet, in this case my blue velvet pants, and show you different ways to style them. Also scheduled on the channel are new fitness videos and other how-to style videos like this one.
Let me know what you think of the video and be sure to subscribe!

I'm a bit late on this, but I thought it was important to give a proper goodbye to 2013. Above are my top 5 moments on Instagram in 2013. I'm not one to talk a lot about my personal life, because to be quite honest I don't think it's anyone's business. That being said, despite 4 of my 5 top moments on Instagram being fashion related I do share a bit more of my life than what I wore. I find it interesting that the posts that resonate the most with my followers are those related to my blog.
There were times last year when I felt like nothing was going right in my life and this blog became my own little place to retreat and get away from the non-sense. I always say that this blog has saved my life more times than I can count. Not that I was on the brink of death, but this blog breathes life into me. When I was down I would read your lovely comments or emails. They became the sunshine in a sometimes very dark day.
As we embark on a New Year, I want to encourage everyone who may be feeling down or feeling like nothing is going their way, to never give up. Define what your goals are and stick to them. If plan A doesn't work move on to plan B, C,D,E....the entire alphabet if you have to, but no matter what you don't give up. I never gave up on myself and I achieved much more than I ever thought I could.
So here's a final goodbye to 2013 and a very big hello to 2014. May all your dreams and wishes come true and may we forever be the sunshine in each other's lives.

I'm so excited to be able to share another video with you all. In this video I will be showing you 4 ways to style plaid pants. As I stated in my plaid and animal print post, I'm loving the plaid trend, but I've become quite bored with plaid shirts. I mean, they seem to be everywhere. These plaid pants were the perfect thing to get me back in the spirit of all things plaid. I find them to be quirky, but I know to some they can be a little intimidating.I hope this video gives you a bit of inspiration. If you enjoyed this video be sure to subscribe.

Sweater: Forever 21 Dress (worn as a skirt): Shop Publik Heels:DSW
I apologize for the lack of posts this month. December has been quite a whirlwind month for me. However, I'm hoping that it will be smooth sailing from here on out.
About today's look- I've been itching to do some extreme pattern mixing, but I was always too afraid to do so. I finally came to the realization that they are just clothes, and I should just go for it. I mean seriously, there are much more pressing issues happening in the world than what I'm wearing.
As far as how I decided on these particular items, I referred to my How To Style Printed Pants video. One of the rules stated in the video is when wearing prints, wear items that share at least one color in each print. In this case both my skirt (which is actually a dress) and my sweater both have black in them. I then incorporated the black with my boots. This may not be my best look, but I'm happy that I let go of my insecurities and just went for it. Do you mix prints? Let me know in the comments below.

Bar Necklace: 2020 Avenue
This outfit exemplifies the complexity of picking out the perfect Fall ensemble. On this particular day it was quite warm but also very breezy and by day's end it was freezing. My solution was to wear one of my new grown up tees and by grown up I mean that it didn't come out of a Hanes pack, is made of significantly better quality and cost way more than a single tee should ever cost (but much less than Kanye's $120 tees). My distressed jeans had just enough rips to allow a nice breeze to pass through. This cropped sleeve XOXO jacket kept me warm when a strong breeze passed, but didn't leave me sweltering. I could have gone with any shoe, but these boots are quite possibly one of the most comfortable pair I've ever owned and I wear them whenever I can. How do you dress for the sometimes indecisive Fall weather?
